Download AdAware from here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
It is free although some of the links try and take you off to “special offers” for the Pro version…
It is good and should clear up any adware/spyware on your PC.
You don’t say which pop up blocker or browser you are using.
Something like the Google toolbar should be good as it has a pop up blocker.
Be wary of lttle known “free/online” sites that offer to scan for threats or block popups as they can sometimes install spyware….
Best to go with one of the big names/anti virus blockers/scanners. If in doubt google the name/company and see if it is well known/mentioned in internet forums.

Question by Mouse: What’s the best free Windows firewall and spyware remover?
I dual boot Linux and Windows. I’ve been using Linux more and more in the last year and my AVG subscription has recently ended. I’m not a cheap bastard. I just don’t see a need to renew since I can scan the Windows partition for viruses while I’m on Linux. Now I just need something for the spyware and a good sturdy firewall.
